The long-term commitment to sustainability by the state’s wine community has helped protect the soil, air and water and benefits employees and communities. This course provides an opportunity to learn about the sustainable practices being used to grow and make California wine.
As the interest in responsibly produced wine grows in the marketplace and with consumers, the importance of being able to clearly communicate about sustainability grows too. Course participants will gain a clear understanding of sustainable practices used in California vineyards and wineries and will be able to confidently share information with others.
This course is intended for wine professionals and interested consumers who want to learn more about sustainable winegrowing.

This free, one-hour course includes modules on: California Wine & Sustainability, Sustainable Winegrowing Terms & Programs, Sustainable Viticulture, Sustainable Winemaking and Employees & Communities. It includes chapter quizzes and concludes with a final exam, which is only accessible after all lessons have been read. Participants scoring 70% or higher on the final exam will be eligible to download a personalized California Sustainable Winegrowing Ambassador Certificate.
